We had our first snow fall last week and went on a little drive up to Crater Lake to get re-aquainted. Ski patrol starts up this weekend. Pray for snow.
The gift shop and cafe.
Some where down there is the lake.
Amy and I at the lodge which is all boarded up for the winter.
While over in Roseburg we went to the wildlife safari where you drive in to the wildlife park and the animals are walking around between the cars. By the way, the llama really did spit.
Here are some pictures of our maiden paddle boat voyage. I was following someone taking a load of stuff to the landfill and they had this paddle boat on top. I pulled up next to them at a stop sign and asked them if they were really going to throw it away and asked if I could have it. So I brought it home, did some minor repairs and wheeled it down to the lake on the girl's little red wagon with the canoe as a rescue boat in case it started to sink. We had a ball sneaking up the pelicans and turtles and Avery even got to see a 20"+ trout jump right in front of our boat.
This is where I make all my phone calls on Sunday while watching all the sailboats and birds go by.
Our office is competing with the Seattle office for the bike to work challenge. So far I'm up to 145 miles on 11.5 trips into work this month and our office (775 miles) is beating the Seattle office (754 miles). Hopefully you will be able to link to the site below.
I had the funnest day last Saturday on a little birding trip up to the north end of the lake with the local Audubon club. We ended up seeing 94 different species of birds.
Here are some photos of our trip down to Capitol Reef National Park and Calf Creek Falls near Escalante, UT.
These are the little cabins Julie found. The price was right and it saved us from sleeping in the rain.
Hickman Bridge
We hiked our camp chairs in and enjoyed the SoBe's Kathy brought for us. We sat for over three hours just enjoying the waterfall, the sun, people watching, and talking.
Here is my garden so far. We have lettuce, spinach, and onions up and going thanks to our little green house I put together. It is so nice to have fresh greens again for meals.
